ABOUT
INNERWORK PORTLAND
Innerwork Better Man Program and Insight Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) are dedicated to helping participants, whether court-mandated or those voluntarily seeking treatment, break patterns of abusive and controlling behaviors. Our goal is to guide participants toward building healthy, respectful relationships by encouraging accountability and self-awareness. Our programs aim to help participants learn to recognize and address their abusive behavioral patterns, identify and manage emotions effectively, develop effective communication skills, and understand the profound impact of their actions on others.
Our Purpose
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide effective and evidence-based intervention to individuals who have engaged in domestic violence, with the goal of reducing the incidence and impact of abuse, by providing the tools and resources needed for participants to make positive behavioral changes.
We recognize the harmful impact that domestic violence has on individuals, families, and communities. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that domestic violence is a learned behavior that can be unlearned through a combination of accountability, education, self-awareness, and support. We aim to break the cycle of violence by helping participants take accountability for their actions, understand the impact of their behavior, and develop healthy and respectful relationships.
We are dedicated to promoting a culture of nonviolence and respect. We are committed to working collaboratively with community partners to prevent domestic violence, raise awareness around abuse, and create safer communities.
How We Operate
Innerwork offers two separate goal based programs:
-
Better Man Program
-
Insight Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP)
Participant program eligibility will be determined after completing an Intake Appointment. All services are conveniently provided remotely, ensuring accessibility from almost anywhere.
Participants must have access to a working device and reliable internet service, including either cellular data service or Wi-Fi calling, to ensure seamless engagement.
Currently, Innerwork is only able to offer services for those who are male or identify as male. We are working towards becoming more inclusive of all genders and non-gender conforming identities.
1. Initial Intake Appointment
Prospective participants will schedule a confidential initial Intake Appointment to gather important information and to explain the rules and policies of the program.
2. Program Involvement
Participants will be enrolled in one of two program offerings along with 8 -12 (on average) other participants. Groups will be determined and assigned after the Intake Appointment.
3. Graduate
After participants fulfill all Completion Requirements and Program Expectations, they successfully graduate the program. Innerwork will provide proof of Successful Completion to appropriate referral sources.
